The Creative Oak Story

Creative Oak Hardwood Floor Company began in 1986, founded by Mario Bravo, who brought over 20 years of experience to the business. His impeccable attention to detail and competitive pricing quickly made him the go-to flooring expert in Marin County.

In 1995, Rick Lachmiller joined the team with 5 years of experience already under his belt. Working alongside Mario, Rick learned the true art of craftsmanship and developed his expertise in custom stain colors and color matching—skills that would become his signature.

In August 1996, Rick purchased the company from Mario, continuing the legacy of excellence while building his own reputation working with some of the largest contractors in Marin County and San Francisco. In 2000, Rick and his wife moved to Sonoma County, where he has spent the last 24 years expanding Creative Oak's reputation throughout the North Bay.

Key milestones in our company's history

1986

Creative Oak Founded

Mario Bravo establishes Creative Oak Hardwood Floor Company, bringing over 20 years of experience and quickly becoming Marin County's trusted flooring expert.

1995

Rick Joins the Team

Rick Lachmiller brings his 5 years of experience and begins learning the art of craftsmanship from Mario, developing his signature expertise in custom color matching.

1996

New Ownership

In August, Rick purchases Creative Oak from Mario, continuing the legacy while establishing his own reputation with major contractors throughout Marin and San Francisco.

2000

Expansion to Sonoma County

Rick and his wife relocate to Sonoma County, expanding Creative Oak's services throughout the North Bay region.
